Liberalism and the police state: A note
"Micro-aggressions" are the "broken windows policing" of liberal identity politics.
And that they are usually sanctioned with what amounts to summary judgment by a local chorus, fits the broad phenomenon of a state of exception from the rule of law and guaranteed liberties.
The way that liberals think, and most of what they do, generally is consistent with the uses of the police state. In a world where property now extends to objects of thought and identity, the link liberty-property-violence as property crime-policing hold pretty solid. And so ‘politics’ for liberals largely proceeds by accusations against individuals thought to violate some right or norm.
No liberal government or politicians have ever stopped a modern fascist movement or government. They always fear the left as much as or more than, the right. They stand by as the right, or the government, attacks the left, and they may raises their voices in protest, making clear their preference for liberal democratic and constitutional government over its fascist alternative, but they are unwilling and unable to take steps that would oppose fascism by weakening the rule of capital.
