On the lie that ties "Jewish" identity to the capitalist police state and its consequences

The claim of Jews to be able to live in their ancestral holy land has somehow gotten mixed up with capitalist policing and war and its ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians. That the first of these justifies the other - I don't see why we can't reject that. That I can only not be oppressed by oppressing you is a proposition that to me makes no sense at all.

I understand very well the forms of anti-semitism in today's society, such as claims that social exploitation and domination could be combatted by somehow sanctioning, disallowing, or promoting hatred of some of the people who organize it, or, worse, that all the solutions to our social problems are to be found in any immediacy of judgment and enforcement accessible to everyone in a collective 'revolutionary' sensibility, so that we should despise everyone who says 'wait a minute' and wants to think more about, interpret, or engage in dispute about the things that are happening. Both tendencies are mistaken. We will not end the capitalist police states that run the world by attacking rich people and locking them up.

At the same time, very conservative interests have assumed the prerogative of speaking for "the Jews," and the results are -- they are part of the same disaster.

Every short-circuit to a true revolution manifests itself as a fascism.

And the depravity and poverty of the conservative interests is they link up with real fears that people have and wield them in the name of things like:

The continued oppression of the Palestinian people. Everything about this situation looks exactly like a bunch of relatively privileged people being asked to be satisfied with the uses of the most violent and predatory military forms of the global capitalist police state, which is at war, simply, against the world's poor.

What has to be contested is the whole set up. You are expected to choose sides: between attacking people who have some ancestral and social connection to people who 75 years ago were the victims of a neo-colonialist capitalist state at its most predatory, violent, extreme, hateful, and murderours. Or you must attack a bunch of poor people who have been driven off their land and made into policed subjects and refugees.

This is a fucking false choice.

Jews were not just victims of a hatred of their identity, so that now if they are encouraged to assert that identity in a manner that involves saying fuck you to whoever is unforunately in that way. Jews were victims of a predatory capitalism that hates everyone who is in its way. Of a predatory and murderous neo-colonialism.

Jews in Europe were victims of the same kinds of things that the Palestinian people are victims of today.

That Gaza is less horrible than Auxchwitz - is that the argument? What kind of oppression can only justify itself by saying, the system we support is not good, but it's less evil than -- the greatest evil we can think of?

Do you support your government because it's the lesser of evils than the murderous regime of Pol Pot? Or then in the arranged mass starvations by Stalin and Mao? Or those arranged by the British in Ireland?

What kind of fucking argument is that?

Is this what the leaders of a civilization that is maybe dying because those leaders are more readily able to imagine the end of life on this planet than the end of a system that they themselves know and admit is very limited indeed, one of continual wars and a policing of the world's population?

Yes, of course, there are people who are stupid and wrong. The left is a graveyard of mistakes and defeats. But why is that? It is because it is by definition the opposition to a system of barbarism that dares to envision something different. And that is a hard task and one that it is possible to fail at. The left can also be corrupted by people whose claims to represent it - like Stalin and Mao - are dubious and problematic. But if the right is allowed to be victorious only because of the mistakes and sins of the left, then first, the world itself may die because the right has no solutions on offer and admits that, and secondly the evils of the false left and those of the right are part of the same thing.

So it is true, indeed, that there are "anti-Zionists" who are wrong, because their solutions take too much of a page from what really is a fascist left, which is not a left at all.

No one with any sense can agree with people who say let's kill the Israelis because that's the alternative to killing the Palestinians. Rubbish! We should no more buy this than the old Cold War bullshit. Stalinism is the alternative to capitalism's wars and police states? It was part of it!

It's fine and good, and it is good, to say, wait a minute, not so fast, the solutions are not so easy -- Yes, that's true. But:

Everyone can see that the Palestinian people who are denied their right to live in their homes, who have been driven off their lands, and really are for the Israelis little more than objects of a permanent war -- which is really the global capitalist police state's war against the poor, and ultimately, everyone. --

And everywhere - as if we were still living in the middle ages - "Jewish" interests are identified with those of big capital. The most conservative and often right-wing interests in the world, including in the United States, are being associated with the interests of "the Jews."

This is intellectual, moral, and political blackmail, and it's as stupid and fucked up as the Cold War mythology. Its blackmail was that you were either for Stalin or for the British and American led police state war of neocolonialism against the world's poor.

Call a lie a lie.

Global capitalism is at war against the world's poor and ultimately the world's people and the planet's resources. That "the Jews" are on the side of this is a fat load of pork lard I'm not buying. Are you?

The difference between revolution and anti-semitism could not be clearer. The fascist pseudo-left goes after beneficiaries of a system of inequality and injustice, while the real left wants to transform that system into something other and better, and that is a very different prospect. Similarly, the liberal-left betrays its reactionary character when it tries to police people's behavior and punish men to benefit feminism, or European-Americans to benefit black people. This never works. A guillotine without a revolution is a project in service of counter-revolution. If someone imprisoned a bunch of capitalists, someone else would take their place. The revolutionary left doesn't attack people but systems. That's the difference, and it is all the difference in the world.
