Does this future Supreme Court Justice care about the rights of women over their own bodies?

More than anything, that is what is at issue.

Note: Kavanaugh replies angrily. As if to say, How dare anyone accuse me! Methinks the gentleman does protest too much.

If he is not guilty of this horrible crime, He should have said, the things Ms. Blasey-Ford alleges are awful. If I had done them, I would be too contrite to do anything but withdraw. As it happens, I find it surprising, as I did nothing of the sort.

But supposing he did it but did not (as would seem from her account) take it very seriously then, and does not now. Part of what he is alleged to have done is violently mistreat a woman sexually and get off in laughter in so doing. If that is what happened, what would we expect him to say now? Perhaps to narcissistically fret and rage about the injury to his own reputation due to the accusation. As if the accused man is the real victim.

We could fear that he will treat lightly things that ought to be treated gravely. I fear that one of those will be a woman’s rights concerning the uses of her own body. Might there not be a connection here?
