The lesson of Kavanaugh: End college fraternities

Whether or not Kavanaugh did what Blasey-Ford says, and it is entirely believable that he did, we know that he was part of an adolescent/fraternity boy drinking culture, which is often linked to sex crimes, and which he refuses to disavow.

This should call attention to the need to ban fraternities. They do more harm than good. They are part of a culture of masculine class privilege that simply has no place in today's America.

It has no place on college and university campuses, or in high schools for rich boys, and it certainly has no place on the Supreme Court.

It is a culture of insouciance to harms done to individuals by young men enjoying their class privilege and the irresponsibility they believe it to confer upon them.

And you want judges with that quality?
